Calling 90% of 1-800 numbers

Last night I was watching television and they were making fun of the fact that many companies are turning to using overseas companies to answer their customer service lines. Whether it be for cell phones, computers, hospital billing, or credit cards, we have all come across the situation where we can barely understand what “patrick” from Pakistan is saying. (I use patrick because that was the name of the person I most recently spoke to” Now I have no problems with people from pakistan but the problem lies in translation. American English is almost like a code that other Americans can understand but when trying to speak with someone who is not fluent we usually end up looking ridiculous because the person we are speaking to is speaking proper English. Which is another problem why is it that countries who teach English as a second language to children can speak better English then a citizen who has lived here for 30 years?
When is it going to stop. How many more things do we need to outsource to another country? Phone sex anyone? That would be fantastic. Bambi from Turkey would be hot….maybe you are into that….not my business I am not here to judge.
